Please join us in our new series exploring north east of Tanzania and hiking Mount Kilimanjaro. Our first time visiting a new continent.

Upon arriving in Moshi Town, Tanzania, the first two days we explored locally before heading out to Kilimnajaro Trek.
On Day 1 we went to African Safari at Tarangire National Forest.
On Day 2 we had orientation for Kilimanjaro Hike and then hiked to Materuni Waterfalls and the coffee plantation.
On Day 3 we started our hiking expedition to Kilimanjaro summit.

Materuni Waterfalls is one of the tallest in the area, spewing crystal clear glacier water 70m into its basin. Some call it “Mware Waterfall” & it is one of the Waterfalls in the Mware River.

It is found in the village of Materuni on the edge of the Kilimanjaro mountain reserve. The beautiful trail leading to Materuni Waterfall is located 2500m above sea level and it takes about 45 minutes to hike to the waterfall landing.

Happy Hiking & Exploring! 😊

Chemka, also called Kikuletwa hot springs, are one of Tanzania’s best kept secrets. The water in these hot springs travels underground from the interior of Mount Kilimanjaro and Mount Meru to reach the surface at this magical spot.

This video contains underwater footage, baboons that are usually around the area, lunch at one of the best restaurants around and a lovely monitor lizard.

This is one of the most beautiful things I have done in Tanzania
