This is Mount Kilimanjaro—Africa’s tallest peak, standing at 5,895 meters above sea level. Mount Kilimanjaro may look achievable, but over 65% of climbers fail to reach the summit. Every year, around 50,000 people lace up their boots to take on this challenge.
It’s an extreme altitude trek where altitude sickness and poor preparation often turn dreams into disaster — with 3 to 10 climbers dying each year.. Some collapse just a few steps from the summit. Others don’t even make it halfway. And nearly half of all trekkers show signs of altitude sickness by day two.
