Kilimanjaro Hike

Kilimanjaro Hike your guide will provide lunch boxes and snacks that you just chose to purchase and take along with you on your hike. As soon as your guide has completed the necessary paperwork, you’ll begin your hike into the Kilimanjaro National Park.

On Kilimanjaro Hike It is impossible to climb Kilimanjaro in a single day, but our day tour of the mountain will give you a good idea of why there is so much interest in Africa’s highest peak.

Kilimanjaro Hike can’t be climbed in a day, but our day tour of this iconic snow-capped mountain will give you a taste of why Africa’s highest peak is so popular. Following the Marangu Route, we will walk to the Mandara Hut, where a picnic lunch will be enjoyed. While other trekkers continue upward, we will descend again and return to Kilimanjaro / Arusha.

Kilimanjaro Hike – Marangu Route
Kilimanjaro Hike Marangu route, also known as the Coca-Cola route, is the oldest and most established route. The only route offering sleeping hut accommodations instead of camping are this route.

Mandara and Kibo Huts each have 60 bunk beds, while Horombo Hut has 120 bunk beds. Mattresses and pillows are provided, but guests must still bring a sleeping bag. Among the huts are communal dining halls and basic washrooms, ranging from flushing toilets and running water at the lower huts to buckets of water at Kibo Hut.

Given its gradual slope and direct route, many people prefer Marangu’s path because it is considered to be the easiest on the mountain. However, the short duration of the route makes acclimatization at high altitudes a challenge.

Toward Mount Kilimanjaro, the route takes a southeasterly route. Since the ascent and descent are along the same path, Marangu is unfortunately not as scenic as other routes. For this reason, it is also the most crowded route.

On Day 1,

In Kilimanjaro / Arusha, take the route from Marangu Gate to Mandara Hut and then back to Kilimanjaro / Arusha.

At 7:00 am, our guide will pick you up from the hotel and drive you to the Marangu Gate. At the gate, you will register with the Kilimanjaro National Park authorities; hiking begins at 11 am.

Our path today approaches Kilimanjaro from the southeast via the Marangu Route. Our goal is to reach Mandara Hut and we will only trek through the lower altitudes, stopping for a picnic lunch on the way.

Once we reach the hut at 14:00hrs, we will stop for a rest for 30 minutes and then descend slowly back to Marangu Gate for 2.5 hours. A vehicle from East Africa Travel Company will be there to pick you up and take you to your hotel in Kilimanjaro / Arusha
