Meru is found in Arusha Park, hikers must climb with an armed ranger thanks to the wide selection of wildlife living on the mountain. The climb cost includes:

Transfers:

  • Pick-up and drop-off at Kilimanjaro International Airport;
  • Transfer to the trailhead – entry gate to Kilimanjaro National Park;
  • Pick-up at the exit from Kilimanjaro park and transfer to the hotel;

Entry fees:

  • All park fees collected by the Kilimanjaro park ( conservation fees, camping fees, crew fees, vehicle fees, rescue fees, and everyone other fees collected by the Tanzania National Parks Authority).

Accommodation:

  • One night at 3* hotel (Aishi Machame Hotel or Altezza Lodge) before the expedition and one night after; The hotels have everything for your comfortable stay – caring staff, nice rooms, reliable Wi-Fi, restaurant and swimming pool);
  • Tented accommodation on Kilimanjaro (modern, comfortable 4-Season tents North Face VE-25 or  Kilimanjaro Tents).

Please note:
All accommodation is on a sharing basis (i.e. you’ll be sharing together with your travel companion a twin/double room within the hotel and a tent during the hike. If you travel alone, we’ll match you with a same-sex adventurer).

Meals:

  • Breakfast within the hotel before and after the hike;
  • All meals on the hike. Our Kilimanjaro diet includes energy-rich and highly nutritious meals prepared by our professional high-altitude cooks. A typical diet on Kilimanjaro includes different soups, garnishes, several sorts of fish and meat, fresh fruit and vegetables; vegetarian/gluten-free/halal options are available at no extra cost;
  • All drinks on the hike (coffee, tea, cocoa, and water).
  • Hiking and safety equipment
  • 2-inch (10-cm) thick and cozy sleeping mats;
  • All group equipment (spacious and cozy dining tent, camping table and chairs, crockery and cutlery);
  • Oxygen cylinders and oximeters;
  • GPS-tracking service;
  • Complete medical kits.

Climbing crew:

  • Professional guides, licensed by Kilimanjaro park. All our guides are the holder of Wilderness First Responder or Wilderness care certifications. All our guides have 7+years of successful mountaineering experience;
  • Dedicated support crew (assistant guides, camp master, porters, cooks, etc.).

The climb cost excludes:

  • Airline tickets;
  • Visa fee;
  • Lunch and dinner at the hotel (before and after the ascent);
  • Personal gear rentals;
  • Tips for the mountain crew (200–250 USD per person);
  • Mountaineering insurance.
  1. Day 1 Arrival at Location

    We will pick you up from Kilimanjaro International Airport to Kilimanjaro hotel for overnight

  2. Day 2 Rest Day

    We recommend at least one rest day before starting your trek and try to sleep because of different time zones, our guide he will give the briefing and check your trekking gears to make sure you have everything needed.

  3. Day 3 Starting Day

    We drive from Arusha to Momela Gate. After a brief registration at the Gate, our walk will begin with full armed ranger escorting us, simply we will see along the way the wild animals including elephants, zebras, and giraffe, monkeys, antelope, and sometimes elephants along the route. Dinner and overnight night at Miriakamba Hut.

  4. Day 4 Mariakamba to Saddle Hut.

    The walk from Mariakamba Hut to the saddle below Little Meru is a short day but a steep climb.
    The walk will take us slowly along the ridge for a spectacular view of the Meru Crater and therefore the impressive Ash Cone.
    After hot lunch at Saddle Hut, we will make a brief climb to the summit of Little Meru (3,820m) for superb views just before sunset. Dinner and overnight night at Saddle Hut.

  5. Day 5 Saddle Hut - Summit - Meriakamba Hut

    We start early at around 1:30 a.m. to climb steeply to Rhino Point (3,800 m.) and on to Cobra Point (4350m). We reach the summit (4,566 m) on time for sunrise there’s an opportunity to ascertain Kilimanjaro Peak above the clouds. the ultimate a part of the climb is along a spectacular narrow ridgeline between the sheer inner cliffs and therefore the sloping outer wall of the crater.

    We take a brief rest and brunch at Saddle Hut before continuing the descent to the Meriakamba Hut

  6. Day 6 Meriakamba Hut - Momella Gate

    We take a brief and fast descent way through open grassland and mixed forest, with the likelihood of seeing wildlife before reaching Momella Gate within the late morning.

    The returning transfer is going to be waiting at the Momella Gate to select up you to the Lodge for Dinner and overnight.

  7. Day 7 Departure transfers
