TWO DAYS – MANDARA HUT & HOROMBO HUT

Your day of hiking will begin bright and early today, so get ready!

Your hike today takes you from the verdant rainforest to the stark alpine zone as you travel over 11 kilometers to the Maundi Crater.

Before settling down for the evening, you will see stunning views of Kibo Glacier from here if the weather is clear.

THREE DAYS – HOROMBO HUT – KIBO HUT

You will hike to Kibo Hut today, where you will set up camp and attempt to summit.

You’ll cross the 4,130m mark before reaching Kibo Hut after climbing almost 1,000m.

Drink plenty of water during your early dinner as you will be up bright and early tomorrow to begin your ascent to the summit!

Day Four – KIBO HUT – UHURU PEAK – HOROMBO HUT

You’re starting your day early today – right after midnight, in fact!

As you get dressed and set up your daypack for the adventure ahead, your climbing team will wake you up with hot tea and snacks to stay warm.

For the next 5-7 hours, you’re going to be hiking in complete darkness, so take it slow and you’ll reach Stella Point just before dawn. From here, there are another two hours of hiking before you reach your ultimate goal: Uhuru Peak.

From 5,985m, you’ll be able to see the sunrise and take in the panoramic view. You’ve done it.

From there, you’ll progressively descend to Horombo Hut via Kibo Hut. This hike can take anywhere between 12 and 16 hours to complete.

A DAY FIVE VISIT – HOROMBO HUT – MARANGU GATE – MOSHI

It’s a day of celebration today, as you enjoy one last breakfast on the mountain before descending to the Marangu Gate.

Upon arriving at the gate, you’ll get to celebrate with your porters and guides, give them a tip for their hard work, and receive your certificate of completion.

You will then be whisked away to your Moshi or Arusha hotel so that you can get some well-earned rest.
