Hiking to Materuni Waterfall - My husband and I had a wonderful experience hiking to the Materuni waterfall and exploring Moshi with Lewison. He timely picked us up from the airport at a very late... read more hour and took us to our hotel. The next day he picked us up and we drove up the mountain to meet Goodluck, our friendly and funny tour guide. Goodluck told us stories about the village, life and culture of the Chagga tribe, the beautiful people who live on the mountainside around the waterfall. The ground is wet at that time of year, and thanks to Goodluck I managed not to fall, but definitely recommend good hiking boots. The waterfall was stunning. Our shoes and my clothing was covered in mud but Goodluck and Lewison took us to family who somehow completely cleaned our shoes and clothing. While our stuff was drying we went on a coffee tour and watched how the guys make coffee and sing songs to stay motivated. The coffee was great but the best highlight was the absolutely delicious food we ate that was prepared by the women of the house. Definitely the best food we had for all of our time in Tanzania.. we spent the rest of our trip trying to find it again. This day trip was such a fun and interesting experience. It was amazing to see how the Chagga people live and interact with the natural resources around them. Definitely recommend. Thank you Lewison and Goodluck.

Kikuletwa Hot Spring - Beautiful clear water spring, but not as hot as described. This location has a small local snack bar where you can get eggs, chips, and drinks. Otherwise, it's a long ride to this location and back, and there is not much to do.
